Dash Design is a small creative business based in the rolling hills of Selkirk, Scottish Borders.
Established by Carla Newman and fuelled by her desire to turn her creativity into a living, she has spent the last nine years turning her art and design work into what we have today.
Carla is passionate about sharing her love of colour and fun through illustration, pattern design, calligraphy and personalised product. She continues to explore new paint mediums and techniques that inspire her from her studio based at home in Selkirk.

Carla married Surrey born husband Scott six years ago. They lived in Melrose with Dash Design's namesake, miniature dachshund Dashy who believed life as a three was just perfect for her.
Dashy's dreams of a long life of luxury ended quite abrubtly as Carla and Scott pursued to add two bouncing children in very quick succession to the home. We also decided that we should sell our house, arrange Scott to start a new job and then buy a complete renovation project for good measure. Fast forward a couple of years the house is almost completed, the children are starting school and Dashy is finally able to relax from the comfort of her upgraded luxury residence - the new garden Studio! Carla finds herself back with her paints once more and ready for Dash Design’s next chapter.
Dash Design is so much more than a small business and those who have been here for a while have walked with Carla through the euphoric highs but also the crushing lows of life. She will never forget how her community of online friends showed up for her during harder times.
